What is meebo?
- Meebo is an open source, in-browser instant messaging program which supports multiple IM services.
- When logged into meebo, you can chat with all of your visitors in real time and access your favorite IM networks including Yahoo! Messenger, .NET Messenger Service, Google Talk, AIM, ICQ and Jabber as well, all in one place.
Where can I use meebo me?
- You can put meebo me on any web page where you can embed html and a flash widget. This includes most blogging platforms such as Wordpress and Blogger, social networks such as MySpace and any other web page you design and manage yourself.
Setting up your meebo me Widget
- The meebo me Widget allows you chat with anyone who comes to your blog or web page. Visitors show up in your Meebo buddylist so you can strike up a conversation, answer questions, or just keep tabs on guests. You can also publish your online status so visitors can see if you're available when they visit your site.
- Point your browser to the meebo me web site at:
http://www.meebome.com/
- Click the Get Started button in the top right corner of the
web page.
- Complete the web form that asks for a Widget title ( i.e., Chat), your username (your name), choose a widget (regular), choose a color theme. Then click next.
- Complete the web form that asks for your New Meebo ID, Your Name, your Email address, your Password, Confirm your Password, Gender, & Age. Then click next.
- Copy and paste the Code into your blog or webpage.
- Sign into meebo.com to chat with all of your visitors in real time.
